Napier Downs and Surrounds
130 kilometres east of Derby, the station sits at the foot of the Napier Range – a rugged, limestone landscape formed over millions of years from an ancient reef system. Known for its grasslands and black soil, Napier Downs Station was utilised as a base for a scientific expedition by the Royal Geographic Society and the Linnaean Society.
Each year, Napier Downs transforms into a vibrant, green landscape. This environment is typical of the station’s tropical, monsoonal climate, which has distinct wet and dry seasons.

The Napier Downs Team
Station Manager James Camp and Station Administrator Manager Barb Camp run Napier Downs Station. D'arne Wilde is the station’s Head Stockman and leads the station’s stock camp.
